23 May 2012, Canberra Australia and Malaysia have signed a free trade agreement (FTA) tagged MAFTA. The deal will guarantee tariff-free entry for 97.60 percent of goods imports by Malaysia from Australia once it enters into force and will rise to 99% by 2017. 23 April 2012, Otawa Denmark Trade Minister Pia Olsen Dyhr state today that the European Union and Canada will conclude a free trade agreement within six months. Denmark holds the presidency of the Council of the European Union. “We are hoping for the most comprehensive and ambitious trade agreement that Canada has ever signed” confirm the Canadian Trade Minister Ed Fast Fast after the meeting with Pia Olsen Dyhr in Otawa. The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) would establish a wide-ranging trade deal encompassing not only goods, but investment and services, and provincial and municipal government procurement.
15 April 2012, Cartagena (Columbia) A key free trade deal between U.S. and Colombia will be fully enforced next month. Under the terms of the trade pact, more than 80 percent of industrial and manufactured products exported from the U.S. and Colombia will immediately become duty free for both parties and more than 50 percent of U.S. agriculture exports to Colombia will also become duty free.
