Under the EU’s first economic partnership deal with an African region, Madagascar, Mauritius, the Seychelles and Zimbabwe will get duty- and quota-free access to the EU market.

* EU – 141 Delegations and Offices around the World

 The European Union (EU) is to open a Delegation to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar (Burma) and a Delegation to the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.). From now on,  EU count with a total of two office, in U.A.E. and Saudi Arabia, to cover its relations with the GCC’s region.
 
The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) is a regional organisation consisting of six Gulf countries: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.

EU’s First EPA with an African Region

On 14 May taken affect the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) concluded between EU and four Eastern and Southern African states Mauritius, Madagascar, Seychelles and Zimbabwe.
 
The interim EPA provides duty and quota free access to the EU market for exports from above mention African countries. The last ones will gradually open their markets to European exports, with exceptions for certain products the countries consider sensitive. The trade and development agreement covers provisions on rules of origin, development cooperation, fisheries, trade defence instruments and dispute settlement.
