For the first time FAO has released its own global estimates of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from agriculture, forestry and other land use (AFOLU), contributing to the Fifth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). New FAO estimates of greenhouse gas data show that emissions from agriculture, forestry and fisheries have nearly doubled over the past fifty years and could increase an additional 30 percent by 2050. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) issued the 2014 report on climate change. The report, titled Climate Change 2014: Impacts, Adaptation, and Vulnerability states the effects of climate change are already occurring on all continents and across the oceans and the world is not ready for the impacts of climate change.
