12 April 2012 Washington, D.C. The Foreign Ministers of the G8 countries have met to discuss views and coordinate actions on a wide range of issues, as country-specific, regional, and transnational affairs with global impact. The G8 Meeting Chair recognise the importance of the economical forces in the foreign policy decision-making and in international peace, security and stability. The ministers meeting taken into account themes like Middle East and North Africa, Middle East peace, Iran, Irak, Syria, the DPRK (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea), Afghanistan, Africa, terrorism, maritime security and transnational organized crime. Also, among other issues, they have exchange opinions about the role of women in international peace and security, food security and nutrition, climate change, human rights, and nuclear safety and security.
