FAO – World Food Prices Hit Lowest Level in Almost Six Years

EPA – The Clean Power Plan

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) unveiled The Clean Power Plan, it aims to cut greenhouse gas emissions from US power stations and it shows the determination of the US to address global warming.

WMO – First Half of 2015 ‘Hottest Six Months on Record”

The United Nations World Meteorological Organization (WMO) reported the globally averaged temperature over land and ocean surfaces was the hottest for such period on record, from January to June 2015.

WHO’s Urban Air Quality Database

 
According to WHO database, about half of the urban population is exposed to air pollution that is at least 2.5 times higher than the recommended levels.

FAO – Agriculture’s Greenhouse Gas Emissions

 

For the first time FAO has released its own global estimates of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from agriculture, forestry and other land use (AFOLU), contributing to the Fifth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
 
New FAO estimates of greenhouse gas data show that emissions from agriculture, forestry and fisheries have nearly doubled over the past fifty years and could increase an additional 30 percent by 2050.

IPCC Report 2014

 
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) issued the 2014 report on climate change.
 
The report, titled Climate Change 2014: Impacts, Adaptation, and Vulnerability states the effects of climate change are already occurring on all continents and across the oceans and the world is not ready for the impacts of climate change.
