A Unitary Patent System for Europe

 

The European Union (EU) member countries signed an agreement for establishing a Unified Patent Court (UPC).
 
The Unitary Patent system will make obtaining a European Patent less complex and cheaper while ensuring legal certainty throughout the entire single jurisdiction.

    It will never, ever happen. But, the US really needs to get on board. Our current wait to have your patent reviewed is years and years. From what I can tell, the more lower the bar to a patent, the more encouragement “for the promotion of the useful arts”–to borrow the language of the US Constitution.
