IATA for a Safer Aviation Industry

The International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) 2012 Operations Committee (OPC) established the main priorities to guide IATA’s safety initiatives over the next 12 months:
–          Pilot and Engineer Training, IATA will facilitate training for pilots and engineers through IATA Training and Qualification Initiative (ITQI)
–          Enhanced IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit), the IOSA standards and recommended practices (ISARPS) should be promoted through the Enhanced IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) program
–          Ground Operations, a dedicated IATA ground operations team will cooperate with IATA Ground Handling Committee for drives safety and efficiency improvements
–          Harmonization, the OPC will work with ICAO, the US FAA and EASA for worldwide harmonization in safety regulations.
